Development: Mobile Technology Selection

In this session we will cover one of the most common questions we hear from startup founders. Which platform should they build their product on. There are many options, and selecting the right platform can make or break a startup as well as affect security, scalability and user experience.

We will cover:

Why did Paypal and several other brands make the switch from Java to NodeJS? Why did Twitter switch off Ruby?

Which platforms can accelerate getting to MVP and what to avoid. We will talk about the fate of Parse Platform. Alternatives like AWS, Heroku, and Firebase.

Client side frameworks including Native Objective C, Xamarin, PhoneGap, and Ionic. What are the real pros and cons of the development path you choose.

We will also talk about some front end web frameworks like AngularJS, EmberJS, and React. Experiences with each, and lessons learned.
