DSW17 Overview

Your DSW withdrawals are finally coming to an end! SAVE THE DATE | April 3rd-7th for another eventful Dallas Startup Week hosted in Downtown Dallas.

In case this is your first year attending, here is a short overview on what Dallas Startup Week is.

Dallas Startup Week is a 5 day event dedicated to connecting our expanding local startup community (that consists of freelancers, entrepreneurs, small business owners, investors, etc.) with opportunities for mentoring, partnerships, and friendships through common goals, struggles, and achievements. The rapid growth of our startup community makes Dallas Startup Week the perfect opportunity to bring everyone together for a week of education and networking.

If you’re an aspiring entrepreneur, a startup looking to take their company to the next level, an individual looking to be employed by a startup community, or an investor looking to fund innovative startups, Dallas Startup Week is where you should be!

DSW16 was organized by Launch DFW, had 5,000 attendees, approximately 150 events, 14 tracks, and all the events were hosted exclusively in Downtown Dallas.

Here are some fast facts regarding DSW17:

• Dallas Entrepreneur Center (also known as the DEC) is organizing DSW this year!
• We are aiming to have 7,000+ projected attendees
• We are hosting approximately 60-80 events ; the goal for this year is to focus on quality > quantity so attendees can get the most out of attending DSW17
• 15 tracks that will consist of panels, keynotes, workshops, tours, fireside chats, expos, and workshops
  (travel/tourism, restaurant, retail, art, music, fashion, health, real estate, legal, AR/VR, smart cities/IOT, gaming, social good, community, education)
• DSW17 will be expanding to host events at venues adjacent to Downtown Dallas instead of all events being hosted solely within Downtown.
• Our event’s theme is I AM_____________. This gives you the option to choose where you fit in either as a supporter, investor, freelancer, enthusiast, whatever!

We are still looking for volunteers and speakers! If you’re interested in learning more about Dallas Startup Week, we have another town hall hosted at the J. Erik Jonsson Public Library Tuesday, March 7th from 6-8:30. We will post more details as soon as we receive them.
