Timmy Newsome is the founder/chief technology officer of Newtec Business Solutions. It’s a managed services provider, specializing in unified communications products, services, and cybersecurity. We incorporate a customer’s business communication and collaboration methods, and devices into one integrated, easy-to-manage system: phone systems; mobile; desktop; video conferencing; remote office; file collaboration; data protection and security.
Timmy is a member of five (one nationally and North Carolina) sports hall of fames, He’s a
former Dallas Cowboys football player, and was named to The Dallas Cowboys Weekly
Newspaper all-decade team (1980-1989). He finished his career as the 9th leading receiver in
Dallas Cowboys history and considered “…one of the more unique players the Cowboys have
had…” by Dallascowboys.com (March 24, 2017). Pro football off seasons (1981-1989) were spent working as a computer-programmer/analyst in banking (ATMs), voter registration and elections systems. In 1991, Newsome founded Newtec Business Solutions (NBS), developing software for wholesale and distribution businesses.
Newsome currently serves on the Computer Science Industry Advisory Board for Winston- Salem State University’s (North Carolina) Department of Computer Science; Scott Murray Scholarship Fund; YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas; Air4Arts, Inc. and HUGS Cafe (employs adults with disabilities). Newsome’s past community-service activities include: vice-chairman of the Board Of Trustees at Winston-Salem State (North Carolina) University; chairman of the school- community council for Townview Magnet High School (Dallas, Texas); Board Of Directors for Friends of Wednesday’s Child; Advisory Board for the SMU Program in Counseling (Dallas, Texas); Board Of Directors for Children at Risk (Houston, Texas) and is past chair of North Texas Advisory Board (Dallas, Texas); and National Alliance on Mental Illness board of directors and past chair. Newsome earned a degree in business administration with a minor in computer science from Winston-Salem State University.
