Jovelyn Castellanos

Jovelyn Castellanos is a dynamic, mission-driven leader committed to advancing healthcare, fostering innovation, and promoting health equity. As the Director of Strategic Initiatives and Public Affairs at Health Wildcatters, she spearheads key projects in strategic communications, healthcare, and innovation, including the Women in Science and Healthcare Network which has grown to over 250+ members since its launch in August 2022. Jovelyn’s expertise spans communications, community relations, and public affairs, where she has significantly impacted healthcare, economic development, community advocacy, and STEM education. With a background in Public Affairs and Community Relations, she has made notable contributions to renowned institutions such as UT Southwestern and Parkland Health.

Ms. Castellanos is also an active board member, serving as past Chair of the SMU Hispanic Alumni Board, and a Partner at Social Venture Partners Dallas. Her commitment to philanthropy and social impact extends to her roles on various advisory committees, including the Texas Health Community Impact Dallas & Kaufman Leadership Council, Harmony Public School North Texas Advisory Council, and the Latina Professionals Executive Committee.

With dual master’s degrees in Healthcare Leadership and Management from the University of Texas at Dallas and Molecular and Cellular Biology from Southern Methodist University, she blends scientific expertise with innovation, communication, and strategic acumen.
