Ahmad joined the US Small Business Administration in June 2010 and was recently promoted to the national role of Assistant Director of Program Management for the Office of Field Operations. In this role, Ahmad oversees all communications and outreach for SBA’s 68 field offices and 10 regional offices across the country. Ahmad leads all White House and special initiatives for the field including Divine 9, HBCU, and other initiatives. Prior to this role, Ahmad served as Lead Economic Development Specialist in the Dallas/Fort Worth District Office overseeing marketing and outreach for 72 Texas counties, where he helped generate over $6.7 billion to small businesses and creating over 50,000 jobs in the DFW area through SBA’s traditional programs. Ahmad also served as the Public Information Officer for the district and has managed media relations for six US Presidential cabinet members. In April 2021, SBA tapped Ahmad to help lead the SBA’s $16.2 billion Shutter Venue Operator Grant (SVOG) program to provide financial assistance to live entertainment small businesses and non-profits.

Ahmad is currently a member of the Texas Southern University Jesse H. Jones School of Business Advisory Council, member of the board of directors for Texas Pride Impact Funds, Board President of the Muhlaysia Booker Foundation, member of the VisitDallas 2026 FIFA World Cup Bid Committee, member of the Dallas County District Attorney’s Advisory Council, and member of Mayor of Dallas’ Anti-Hate Advisory Council.

Ahmad was named a 2022 Dallas Business Journal 40 under 40 honoree and the 2021 Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce’s A. Maceo Smith Emerging Leader.

He is born and raised in Dallas, where he attended H. Grady Spruce High School. Ahmad graduated from Jarvis Christian College with a degree in History, earned his Masters in Political Science from Dallas Baptist University and currently a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Texas at Arlington. He is proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated.
