Dr. Kevin Wortley is an accomplished leader with 25 years of diverse experience in business management and higher education. Currently, he serves as the Dean of Academic Affairs for the School of Business, Hospitality & Global Trade at Dallas College, where he oversees five business programs that serve more than 10,000 students annually across seven campuses.

Wortley’s professional journey includes a successful 10-year tenure as a multi-unit interstate franchise owner/operator where he was twice awarded Franchisee of the Year. For the past 15 years, Wortley has dedicated himself to higher education: five years as an adjunct at Texas A&M University-Commerce (TAMUC), five years as a full-time business professor at Richland College, and five years in his current role as academic dean. Under his leadership, Dallas College inaugurated the first Bloomberg Lab at a Texas community college, which this year alone will award industry-recognized credentials to nearly 1,000 students.

Wortley holds a Doctorate in Higher Education Leadership (EdD) with a focus on entrepreneurship from TAMUC and an MBA and MA from Southern Methodist University. His educational leadership philosophy is grounded in the belief that the best way to achieve the vision of Dallas College is to prioritize the well-being and development of our faculty and staff, thereby enhancing their service to students.
